11-08 Update: Almost a year later, reader David N notes that this Yamaha is back up for sale with a $1,500 discount – find it for sale here on Craigslist for $8,500 in NW Ohio.
In the late 1990s, Yamaha tried their hand at the cruiser game, but they had some unique touches. The biggest difference was the engine – the 1300cc unit looked like the usual V-Twin, but it actually had four cylinders with dual overhead cams. The engine was water-cooled and it had a shaft drive. In 1997, Yamaha released a limited edition called the Palomino Edition. The changes were solely cosmetic, but it seems that just 87 were created under a contract by Andrew Preston at Bushtec Trailers.
In addition to the paint, the Palomino got tan imitation leather on the seat, saddlebags, tank strap, and even handlebars. This specific model has 12,500 miles and still looks great, though it seems that it’s missing the Yamaha tank badges.
Find this Yamaha Royal Star Palomino Edition for sale in Northwest Ohio for $10,000 here on Craigslist.
