Talk about a fantastic name for a motorcycle. The Laverda Ghost Strike is one of the many variants the Italian firm pushed out in the late 90s that were powered by either the 650 or 668cc parallel twins. Laverda actually offered a Ghost and a Strike as separate models, the former a trellis-framed naked bike, the latter a perimeter-framed naked. The Ghost Strike was a naked bike with a chin fairing.
Check out 668-Tech for a list of all the different variants Laverda was pushing out at the close of the century. Laverda got some grief about their 650 when they brought it out, so the 668 was quickly introduced with new materials and designs for the cylinder head and barrels. The engine produced 70 horsepower and about 50 pound-feet of torque. I don’t feel that the bike has aged particularly well in terms of design, but you can be confident that you won’t see many others on a weekend ride. Or any ride.
This specific Laverda Ghost Strike has a recently rebuilt top end but the starter motor is worn out so you’ll have to replace it or bump start it. It has evidence of a drop on the left side, but the seller says that there are no issues besides the starter. It has 19,071 miles on the odometer, though everything is displayed in kilometers.
