Post Sale Update: After being relisted, this Aprilia RSV Mille SP sold for $8,850 after 30 bids on eBay.
The Aprilia RSV Mille SP was a homologation special produced for Aprilia to enter the Superbike World Championship. The minimum requirement was for 150 bikes, so that’s exactly what Aprilia made. Today, we’re featuring #59.
SP stands for Sport Production, and this is one of the rarest Aprilia’s ever made. Built around the famous 60 degree V-Twin, this bike utilized a special version of the engine built in collaboration with legendary tuning house Cosworth. In conjunction with a special exhaust, power was bumped to 150 horsepower. Chassis rigidity increased 20%, and certain aftermarket vendors were tapped to further increase the capability of this bike – Ohlins, for example, took care of the suspension and steering damper, while Brembo took care of the brakes.
This specific Aprilia RSV Mille SP is apparently being sold by someone who struggles with the English language, but the bike itself looks to be in great shape. It’s only covered 6,550 miles, so there’s not much to say other than the fact that there are no cosmetic flaws mentioned, and that it has new tires.
