2 Wheel Drive – 2013 Christini 450

You’ve seen two wheel drive bikes before thanks to companies like Rokon. But thanks to a fancy mechanical system enclosed within the head tub and frame, Christini has been the most successful manufacturer of two wheel drive bikes that can go anywhere and do it quickly.

Christini 450 AWD - Tank

The bike is mostly based on a Honda CRF450X (many parts are interchangeable), with a Chinese engine from Asia Wing. To maximize reliability, the Christini engine has a lower compression ratio and stainless steel valves, compared to the titanium units in the Honda. While engines are sourced from China, final assembly is done in Philadelphia, where Christini is based. Impressively, the company claims that the front drive system weighs 15 pounds and results in only a 1% loss in power. Check out the technological details here on the Christini website.

This example is plated in California and it has a Rekluse clutch, left hand rear brake, FMF Power Bomb header paired with a FMF Q4 silencer, Seat Concepts seat, larger radiators, brake disc guards, PMB Fastways linkage guard, and an extra rear fuel tank that’s already plumbed to the petcock. The seller does not include hours or mileage. For more photos, check out this photobucket album.
