The Aprilia RS50 is one of the best little bikes around, but the tiny 2-stroke motor is built to meet displacement requirements, not outright power. This bike has a heart transplant that you might find interesting, because it’s now packing twice as much power!
In 2013, with 400 miles on the odometer, the original Aprilia motor was pulled out and replaced with the water-cooled, DOHC single from a Honda NX250 dual sport. Per the seller, this required custom motor mounts made out of chromoly and a custom muffler. The resulting drivetrain swap results in approximately 25 horsepower (up from 12 with the original motor) in a package that weighs only about 200 pounds dry!
The sale includes spare tires – two rears, one front, and the seller has a starting video you can check out.
