When it comes to Aprilia fanatics, “2000” needs clarification when it comes to the Mille. In the early part of 2000, Europe got 2000 models while the US got 1999 models – it wasn’t until later in the year that we got the proper 2000 models, which are known in the community as “2000.5”. They had a few minor upgrades (most notably, steel-braided brake lines), and once the new bikes came in we also received the upgraded R model. The R featured Ohlins suspension + steering damper, forged OZ aluminum wheels, shorter/lighter subframe with a solo seat, and a carbon fiber front fender.
This example has 14,293 miles and it’s offered by the second owner, who notes that it was sold new by Pro Italia in Southern California. The seller moved to Colorado eight years ago and does not ride it enough any more. The sale includes the factory stand and owner’s manual, plus the seller will throw in a set of leathers, but he notes that one fork seal is leaking.
