Post Listing Update: This Quota was pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown.
Moto Guzzi took their well-known 1,064cc twin and threw it in an ADV package to compete against BMW’s GS bikes. The result was as you’d expect – too heavy and under-suspended for serious off-road work, but very capable as a sport-tourer that could also play on fire roads or light trails. This example is well-modified for touring and it’s had the common Quota issues addressed, so it’s perfect for someone who appreciates the qualities of an ADV bike but wants something relatively unique.
For more on the Quota, check out this review on Motorcyclist where Ed Milich calls it “one of Moto Guzzi’s famous engineering answers to questions no one asked.”
This example is being offered by the third owner and it has just 11,500 miles. Per the Motorcyclist review above, the biggest concerns with the Quota are cracking wheel rims and poor fueling from the ECU. This bike has had both concerns addressed with a new Sun rim and Buchanan spokes in the rear (which already had started cracking), a Power Commander, and a GuzziTech map for the ECU. Other goodies include hard bags, a new Mistral crossover and muffler, Madstad windscreen, and a new seat. It was serviced earlier in the year.
