2001 Indian Spirit of America

In America, Cruiser by AbhiLeave a Comment

Post Listing Update: This Indian did not meet reserve despite 18 bids up to $9,100.

A limited run of 10 bikes built by one of the many rebirths of Indian to support America’s relief efforts in the aftermath of September 11th, the Indian Spirit of America featured a special American Flag motif and additional cosmetic details. 2001 was a special year for Indian – it was the 100th anniversary of the company. They decided to share proceeds from the sales of this limited edition with the American Red Cross and New York Firefighter’s 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund.

Indian Spirit of America - Tail

Mechanically, the bike was powered by a 88 cubic-inch V-Twin that had to move 620 pounds of cruiser. This specific bike (VIN: 5cdm551x1g003506) is the first of the ten special editions and it has under 1,300 miles. Oddly enough, the seller claims that Indian experts say the other 9 out of 10 bikes were never built. For what it’s worth, I’m not able to prove him wrong after some quick online research.
