Post Listing Update: This KTM did not get any interest at the asking price of $4,500.
My research for the KTM 640 LC4 Enduro led me to the conclusion that KTM took their race bike, put blinkers on, and sent them to showrooms. Spotty reliability before 2004 and rough vibrations lead to some second thoughts when commuting to an off-road destination. However, as soon as you arrive at the main event, the negatives melt away while the WP Suspension glues to loose surfaces and the brakes inspire more confidence than a 1-kick start.
This 2001 model (VIN: VBKGSL4011M740718) may have suffered from issues at the time, but it is ready to rip with a full engine rebuild including valve seals, seats, and a carb tune up. Some welcome modifications include an adjustable windscreen, gel seat, and off-road protection. As any used bike should, a box of parts is included with the purchase. According to the listing, the bike had 8,000 miles before the rebuild.
