2002 Moto Guzzi V11 LeMans

Back in 2001, Moto Guzzi introduced the V11 LeMans as a spiritual successor to its iconic 850 racer. The bike featured the marque’s tried-and-true transverse 1100cc V-Twin – per MCN, “If you want an old-school Italian heavyweight with 21st century components, finish and style, look no further than the Moto Guzzi V11.” Here’s an interesting one that comes with all the luggage that you would ever want…

What’s more, Moto Guzzi fitted the bike with a plethora of trick parts, including a set of 40mm Marzocchi upside-down forks, a Sachs shock, and some Brembo brakes front and rear. As you’d expect with a Guzzi, the V11 LeMans was heavy — to the tune of nearly 500lbs dry. All-out performance wasn’t the model’s MO, though. Rather, Moto Guzzi designed the bike to be a sporty-yet-comfortable roadster with smooth handling and predictable power. It made some 91hp at 7,800rpm with the 69.3lb-ft of torque coming in slightly earlier at 6,000rpm. On the road, this meant that it topped out at 135mph. Thanks to the large 5-gallon fuel tank, LeMans riders could cover 200 miles between fill-ups.

This example (VIN: ZGUKRAKRX2M114788) has 12,245 miles and the most distinctive feature has to be a custom installed Givi Wing Rack with matching luggage – including 36 liter touring cases that can be swapped out for 20 liter cases, as well as a 35 liter top case which can be swapped out for a roller bag and Givi laptop case if you’re headed to work. Other extras include an aftermarket exhaust, tall windscreen, Moto Bits foot controls, and a Salamander throttle lock. There’s also plenty of spare parts including a Power Commander, OEM parts for what’s been upgraded, passenger seat cowl, and even a fuel tank.
