The Aprilia Tuono Racing (before the Italian company started applying the ‘Factory’ moniker on their high-performance bikes) was a limited edition, highest-spec version of the naked Tuono. Think of it as the RSV-R without a fairing and with wider, flatter bars.
The 998cc V-Twin engine was good for 115 horsepower and 74 pound-feet of torque. Surrounding that powerplant were some great components like carbon bodywork, Ohlins suspension and steering damper, Bremob brakes, and lightweight OZ wheels. From the factory floor, it came with a titanium race exhaust and reprogrammed ECU, plus a carbon fairing, belly pan, and tail light delete. Just 50 were brought to the United States. For more on the Tuono R(acing), check out this quick profile from Motorcyclist:
“The Tuono’s tall, wide bar, broad spread of power, killer brakes, and top-spec suspension combined to make it an almost religious experience upon that untamed belt of asphalt.”
This specific Aprilia Tuono Racing has just 5,583 miles and is claimed to be near mint. Extras include a Sargent saddle, R&G Racing frame sliders, Supermoto Engineering fork axle sliders, CRG levers, and more. The race exhaust and chip are currently installed. It also comes with two extra stock cans and miscellaneous parts. There’s just a couple of nicks on the wheel and the front right decal has some bubbling.
