The Aprilia Tuono is a motorcycling legend now, but it was rolled out in many small stages. It started as as a limited run of a Streetfighter kit for the Falco in 2001, and the following year Aprilia officially created the Tuono (officially called the Tuono Mille RSV-R Limited) with a numbered run of approximately 200.
When the Limited was initially launched, Aprilia told the press that they were going to make 200, 50 of which were slotted for the US. 135 were built in the first run, with roughly another 100 in a second run. Soon after, Aprilia would create the base model Tuono and the Tuono Racing, and the rest is history.
The Limited got the full-power RSV-R engine and was upgraded with Ohlins suspension front and rear plus a steering damper, OZ lightweight wheels, carbon fiber bodywork, Matte Diablo black paint on the tank, Aprilia Racing exhaust with EPROM chip, seats covered with an exotic Kevlar-based fabric, frame sliders, and an exclusive gold frame/swingarm color (or as the Italians called it, “oro metalizzato opaco”).
Unfortunately the seller of this example is very spares on details – all he or she shares is that it has 3,700 miles, is in “excellent condition”, and is “well maintained.” Find this Tuono Limited for sale in Lake Havasu City, Arizona for $6,500 or best offer here on eBay.
