2003 KTM 525 EXC

In Austria, Dual-Sport, Less than 5k by Mazlow PetosaLeave a Comment

Short of the engineering masterpieces that are modern day supernakeds, I don’t know if it is possible to have more fun on the street in terms of smiles per gallon and value for money than a dual-sport or supermoto. I don’t care how much power you have, there’s nothing more fun than all of it. The KTM 525 EXC made its name on the dirt and the street alike for being the big bore single of choice for many. The bike was incredibly capable out of the box, and simplicity added to its value. Additionally, Cycle World placed the 500/525 EXC on their list of Best Used Bikes, further acknowledging the model. This soul of this bike lives on today through the KTM 500 EXC, carrying an $11,199 price tag.

Motorcycles are of course made to be ridden, and the current owner seems to have taken his bike off the beaten path. Supporting mods include a Scotts steering stabilizer, oversized fuel tank, and a radiator fan, all welcome additions for both dirt and street riding. Perhaps the biggest detail about this bike is that it is already plated in CA through 2019, mitigating the complete disaster that is trying to register your own custom 450 supermoto. One extra rear wheel with a paddle tire is included as well.
