Post Listing Update: did not meet reserve with 15 bids up to $2,375 on eBay in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Normally a manufacturer releases a bike with multiple color options and it’s not a big deal. But when MZ wanted to update their “Street Moto” model called the Baghira with different colors on the plastics, they created separate model names such as the “Forest” for a military green or the “Black Panther” for…well, you can guess.
The Baghira was originally introduced in 1998 as an enduro, but in 2001 MZ created the Baghira Street Moto with similar specifications to the street-only Mastiff. The motor is the thumper from a Yamaha XT660 and it’s good for 50 horsepower and 42 lb-ft of torque. That’s paired with Grimeca brakes, WP suspension, and Acerbis plastic bodywork. It’s tremendous fun around town and in the corners – think of it as a DR650 on steroids. Finding replacement bodywork can be a chore, but thanks to the Yammy engine, mechanical maintenance is much easier than the bike’s rarity would suggest. This example (VIN: SNZ6DE3S948004669) has just over 7,000 miles and it’s equipped with a M4 exhaust. The seller says that the bike starts and runs well and that it has a “reasonably new” battery.
