Post Listing Update: This K1200S hack did not meet reserve despite 33 bids up to $14,100 on eBay in Shelton, Washington.
The faired variant of the K12R, the BMW K1200S featured the first all-new engine from BMW Motorrad since the early 80’s. Of the big K’s, this was the ‘sports’ model, but the ample fairing and integrated luggage option made it an impressively quick tourer as well. The luggage capacity of this one has gone way up now thanks to a Hannigan Bandito sidecar.
The seller of this example (VIN: WB10591A16ZM27668) bought it from Hannigan – they acquired it as a mule to develop a “BMW High Performance Sidecar” project and was then used as a proof of concept for testing and display in convention booths. The owner acquired it in October of 2017 for $23,995 but two years later he had a serious motorcycle accident and has stopped riding. The odometer shows 17,710 miles and the bike is equipped with a MRA windscreen and MASS carbon fiber exhaust. There’s a few scratches in the paint and in the windshield, but the color-matched sidecar looks great.
