Post Sale Update: This Big Ruckus sold for $3,000 after 43 bids on eBay.
The Ruckus was a surprising hit for Honda, due almost entirely to the aftermarket customization that has skyrocketed around the 50cc scooter. What many people don’t know is that Honda offered a ‘full-size’ version called the Honda Big Ruckus for 4 years in Japan and 2 years (2005-2006) in the US/Canada.
In this case, full-size means a 2 passenger, 250cc scoot that produced 19 horsepower and 15 pound-feet of torque. Features included a CVT, rear seat that folds up to become a driver backrest and a parking brake that was operated via a hand lever. It’s a polarizing bike – owners swear by the practicality while critics usually say something along the lines of “well, just look at it”.
This specific Honda Big Ruckus (VIN: JH2MF09156K101048) is said to be in “very good running condition” and every component is said to work. The coolant and oil are new, as is the battery, left side mirror, and left side plastic panel (the seller notes that the bike has fallen over once at a stand still. The left turn signal was repaired and the passenger seat has been re-upholstered. There are 10,896 miles on the odometer and the flaws are limited to occasional squeaking from the front brakes (expect to replace the pads) and a slightly finicky turn signal switch.
