KTMs’s excellent history with dirt bikes served them well when they decided to become one of the few OEMs to offer supermotos from the factory floor. One of their best offerings was the 625 SMC.
The 625 motor is a single overhead cam liquid cooled thumper. It’s similar to the LC4 motor in KTM’s 640 but it’s missing a balancer shaft (you’ll notice the vibration). Still, high spec components like four-piston Brembo brakes and fully-adjustable WP suspension mean you won’t care about the shaking because you’ll be too busy tearing up corners with a goofy smile on your face. The motor puts out 53 horsepower and it weighs just 321 pounds. Peak torque is low, making it a thrilling city bike/commuter if you’re feeling ambitious. For more on the SMC, check out this review from MCN – they call it the best of the KTM supermoto lineup as a good balance of race performance with convenience like an electric starter.
This example has 16,388 miles and is said to be “in almost perfect condition with some minor wear and tear from being a 14 year old bike.” Extras include a cored exhaust with aftermarket end caps, KTM handguards, jetted carb, frame/exhaust/wheel sliders, LED spot lights, and a Twin Air filter.
