Post-Listing Update: This Super TT did not meet reserve with bidding up to $3,250.
When it comes to streetbikes, it’s harder to have much fun (at legal speeds) than when you’re riding a supermoto. For just two years and 1,700 units, Buell channeled the supermoto feel and created the XB12STT, a tweaked version of their Lightning streetfighter, also known as the Buell Lightning Super TT. Those of you with off-road backgrounds will feel instantly comfortable once you hop on the single seat of the Super TT, which is much narrower than any I-4 sportbike.
With the veritable 1203 cc Thunderstorm V-Twin pushing out 100 horsepower, this bike was capable of 133 miles per hour and tons of smiles. Though not as ‘flickable’ as a Ducati Hypermotard, which you might consider a competitor based on my above description, this bike is able to blend high agility with high speed stability due to long travel suspension and an extended swingarm compared to the bike it was based on. Other differences include the 6 spoke wheels, supermoto-style front fender, crossbar handlebars, and the rear side panels.
This specific Buell Lightning Super TT has just 4,091 miles and it comes with the original front fender and handlebar guards. It’s being offered by the second owner who has put just 20 miles on it since purchasing it in 2012 as it’s too tall for his son. It’s claimed to still be in near showroom condition.
