A factory-built, $30,995 racebike, the Buell XBRR was Erik Buell’s effort at taking care of privateer racers, and it was specifically designed to compete in the AMA Formula Xtreme class. This might surprise you as FX was normally for modified 600cc bikes, and the XBRR uses a 1339cc Thunderstorm V-Twin. But considering it was the first year of competition with this bike, the AMA thought the Buell would be most competitive in this class. Here’s an example of an already rare bike (just 50 examples were built) that has never been campaigned.
The giant Thunderstorm produced 150 horsepower and it was paired with magnesium wheels, Ohlins suspension, and eight-piston brakes build by Nissin. For more, check out this write-up from Motorcycle-USA.
This specific XBRR is basically new. It’s on a crate and the seller says it never has been “utilized”, though they also say there’s 10 miles on the odometer. For this price, that should be clarified. Find this Buell racer for sale in Greensboro, North Carolina for $40,000 here on Cycle Trader.
