Despite the retro styling, the Ducati GT1000 was basically a decade ahead of its time and the retro-styled rebirth motorcycle manufacturers are going through. They’ve turned into cult classics which now have blue book values at or above the original MSRP!
The GT1000 was a modern take on Ducatis older GT bikes, and it was the most comfortable of the SportClassic line. You got 92 horsepower, dual shocks in the rear, and what has to be the most fender gap I’ve ever seen on a motorcycle (pretty much my only complaint with the styling). Cycle World called this one of the best standard used bike buys out there, also noting that there wasn’t much competition because this bike was ahead of its time.
This 15k mile example (VIN: ZDM1WABP37B009099) is adorned in the rare black/cream paint scheme with the even rare OEM bags. It also has a Corbin seat, Termi slipon exhaust, Rizoma handlebars/risers, Storz steering damper, Shogun frame sliders, and more. It just got a full service and it’s ready to go. And for those of you into alternative currencies, the seller will accept bitcoin.
