Sold between 2007-2011, the KTM 690SM was an excellent option for riders who wanted the handling joy of a supermoto racer that was toned down enough to be street friendly. These bikes wont’ win any all-around competitions, but if you emphasize agility and don’t spend a lot of time on the highway, it’s hard to do much better.
The SM was pricey but you got your money’s worth with a slipper clutch, WP suspension, and Brembo radial brakes. Despite the 690 name, the single cylinder motor actually displaced 654cc. It produced 63 horsepower, which was plenty when you consider that the bike weighed approximately 350 pounds. For more information on the 690SM, check out this story on MCN. They open up the review with “The KTM 690SM is simply put the best road going Supermoto bike currently available. Ok it’s not really for competition use but as road going Supermoto bikes go the new KTM 690 is king.”
This example has been with the seller for “a few years”. It has approximately 18,000 miles, and it comes with a Shorai lithium battery, Corbin seat (stock included), Leo Vince carbon exhaust, and Dunlop Q3+ tires. The seller claims that all services are up to date, and he “replaced the rocker arms not too long ago as preventative maintenance.” If you want more photos, check out this album from the seller.
