Here’s a vehicle only true scooter fans know about – the Yamaha Morphous. Ignoring the oddball name, it was by all accounts a well designed scooter that did not achieve commercial success. It was introduced in 2005 in the US and was pulled in 2009. If you’re looking for a scooter that stands out, it’s hard to imagine a better modern option.
I think it’s an interesting package, with a long, low body. The 25.8 inch seat height means that it’s not too tall for pretty much everyone, and you’ll get multiple storage units including a trunk and a glove box. A 249cc engine means this doesn’t accelerate very quick but it’s capable of at least 75 miles per hour. For more on the Morphous, check out this review from Motorcycle.com, who suggest that you should “imagine the Morphous as a 2-wheeled Cadillac from the future.”
This example has 7,176 miles and the seller states that it’s fully serviced, ready to ride, and in “phenomenal condition.”
Find this Morphous for sale in Roswell, New Mexico (it does sort of look like a UFO) for $2,995 here on ADVRider.
