Post-Sale Update: The RXV sold for $6,301 after 24 bids on eBay, and the supermoto sold for the BIN of $6,500.
When Aprilia first released the RXV in 2006 (in both 450 and 550 displacements), they unfortunately had a few teething issues that really put a damper in initial reliability. By 2008 nearly all of the issues had been taken care of, and Aprilia had finally made the bikes street legal!
The RXV stood out mainly for the engine – it was the first production enduro to be powered by a V-Twin engine, good for about 60 horespower. Dry weight was 262 pounds and MSRP was $9,299. This example (VIN: ZD4VPU50188000174) has just 68 miles and is claimed to be as close to new as you can get. It’s being offered by the second owner, who starts it regularly and rides it occasionally – he says he rod eit just once in the woods on an easy trail ride. The battery was recently replaced and everything is claimed to work.
