2008 BMW HP2 Megamoto

In Germany, Sport by AbhiLeave a Comment

One of the rarest BMWs to make it to the US, the Megamoto was only sold in 2008 and just 107 examples were imported to the states. As this was BMW’s take on a large supermoto, the model name is just about perfect. Think of it as a street version of the HP2 Enduro.

Like the other HP2, this bike features a boxer twin. In this application, it produced 113 horsepower and 85 pound-feet of torque. It weighed “just” 393 pounds – significantly less than BMW’s other big bikes of the time but that’s still a number that would make any supermoto enthusiast recoil in horror. The Megamoto was well equipped with Brembo brakes, Ohlins rear shock, Marzocchi forks, and an Akrapovic exhaust. For more on the Megamoto, check out this “Riding Impression” from Cycle World.

This example has just 8,000 miles and it’s equipped with factory ABS, heated grips, tail bag, carbon fiber valve cover protection, CNC shift/brake levers, and carbon fiber hugger. Non-BMW parts include LED turn signals, a Racetech fork revalve, Woody’s kickstand bracket, and more.
