Post-Listing Update: This Saxon did not get any action at the asking price of $12,500.
I’ve never been much of a cruiser/chopper/bobber guy, but I’ve had no choice to learn more about them and appreciate them as I constantly search for motorcycles for you to enjoy. Over time I’ve seen several names come up over and over again – one of them is master builder Gard Hollinger of LA County Choprods. You’ve heard his name on my site recently because he’s the man behind Arch Motorcycles and the KRGT-1 I featured a week ago. Before Gard designed a bike from scratch with Keanu Reeves, he consulted with companies like Saxon to help them build bikes. One of his designs for Saxon was the Mad Jack, of which only a couple were built. Here’s one!
Saxon was founded in 2004, and their idea was that they could sell you a “production custom at a more reasonable price point.” Click here for a list of their models. Unfortunately they struggled financially and were sold in 2009, only to go up for sale again in 2010. Right before they sold the first time, they introduced the Mad Jack, which they called a ‘streetfighter.’ It was the second bike Gard designed for them, but when I asked him about it he said he only thought 2 were built and 1 was probably just in pieces.
Features included a 107″ S&S engine, 6 speed transmission, S&S Super E carb, Brembo brakes, RSD exhaust and a Mooneyes oil tank, and lots of LACC custom parts like the gas tank, billet risers/gas cap/oil filter/axle covers and hydraulic seat shock damping system.
