Post Sale Update: This Bimota DB7 sold for $20,000 on eBay.
The Bimota DB7 continues the Italian company’s ethos of building exquisite frames and bodywork around existing high-performance engines. The first letter of the model name clues you in as to where the engine came from – the “D” in DB7 stands for Ducati. Specifically, this bike comes with the 1099cc desmo engine as found in recent Ducati superbikes.
The Bimota is chock full of top-shelf components, like Marzocchi forks, Brembo Monobloc calipers, and the fully adjustable ExtremeTech rear shock. But what truly makes this bike stand out is the way this bike is made. The oval section chassis (with adjustable ride height), wonderfully milled aluminum rearsets (also adjustable), and carbon fiber everywhere make this a bike that you will rarely see anywhere else on the road.
The Bimota…is a beautiful work of art, handles like a dream and has awesome real-world V-Twin power that makes it more accessible to more riders. – Cycle World, August 2010
This specific Bimota DB7 has covered less than 200 miles. The only extra seems to be an incredibly mean looking exhaust – we’d love to hear what it sounds like. It can always be difficult to justify spending this much money on a motorcycle, even one as exquisite as this, but you have to realize you’re not overpaying for the components you get. If you desire exclusivity, a toe-curling exhaust note, and solid craftsmanship, you’d be hard-pressed to beat this bike. Just be cognizant of the fact that you probably live very, very far from someone that stocks Bimota parts, and you’ll be okay.
Find this Bimota DB7 for sale here on eBay with an opening bid of $20,000 in Tustin, California. We think the opening bid on the bike is just too high – save the auction for later, wait for the bike to get relisted at a lower number, and then go nuts.
