Post Listing Update: This HP2 Sport did not get any interest at the BIN of $16,500.

This is exactly the kind of bike I would add to my own collection. It is weird, it is exclusive, and it is incredibly capable. The BMW HP2 Sport is the ultimate expression of the boxer engine; the final design exercise before BMW graced us with their S1000RR. Telelever suspension should be experienced by all riders once, and there is no better way to experience it than paired with fully adjustable Ohlins dampers at a racetrack. Motorcyclist magazine lays out the difference between telelever and telescopic function in detail here.

The boxer engine configuration may not be for everyone, especially those with a performance oriented mind. But this 7,052 mile example could not be a better representation of the layout. Forged wheels, quickshifter, and a lithium battery are highlighted in the listing. Carbon fiber bodywork keeps the weight down, and a 2D data logging dash is a constant reminder of the HP2’s endurance racing heritage. A never-installed Power Commander is also included. Buy this, ride this, and watch as the trellis frame and bodywork polarize the masses. For more information, look at this First Ride Review from Motorcyclist.
