2009 Buell 1125R

Post Listing Update: This Buell was pulled off of eBay due to an “error in the listing”.

Erik Buell was a dreamer, and the American sport bike was one of those dreams. We are lucky to still be able to experience them, though sales never quite living up to expectations. There may be some weirdness as is usually evident with smaller manufacturers, but therein lies the charm. The 1125R is a Rotax-engined sport bike that maintains Buells fuel-in-frame technology, and compliments the engine with massive rim mounted discs clamped by 8 piston rotors. Clever fuel injection technology also regulates compression braking to minimize wheel hop. The looks, like the riding experience, are a love or hate thing, but you cannot argue that it stands out in the parking lot concours. For more on the 1125R, check out this First Ride from Cycle World.

Unlike the EBR 1190SX I featured recently, this model was sold new. The red paint looks good in pictures and it only has 8,038 miles. The listing highlights a Saddlemen seat, which is probably a welcome modification on this (or any) sport bike, but appears otherwise stock. Maintenance items include a stator, water pump seal, and battery.
