Post Listing Update: This Daytona did not get any action at the BIN of $5,300.
In 2006, Triumph graced us with the Daytona 675 and the world has been a better place ever since. A 675cc triple gave the supersport world some middle ground between Italy’s V-twins and Japan’s four cylinders. 2009 brought a host of updates to improve the already impressive package, and some massaging resulted in a small power bump to 126. A 357 lb dry weight was tossed easily back and forth, and all of this European performance was available for less than $10,000.
This 2009 Triumph Daytona 675 base model is black. It is in great condition with a clean title, but the owner is being coy with the VIN. There is some paint missing on the clutch case, suggesting a tip over, but I don’t see any neighboring scrapes on the plastic. Otherwise, it has lived a leisurely, temperate life in California with just 974 miles on the clock. The base model may not be as flashy as the 675R, but the chances to own a time capsule like this are rapidly decreasing. Most of the base examples tend to be higher mileage compared to their track focused brothers. Additionally, the new Triumph 765 mill powers the 2019 Moto2 grid and the Daytona 765 has already been spied testing. It’s safe to assume Triumph is on its way back to the headlines.
