Sponsored by Milwaukee Tools, this Yamaha R1 was built in 2013 by Shaun Muir Racing in the UK to compete in the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix. The bike was quite successful at that goal, winning the 2013 running with TT legend Ian Hutchinson as pilot and then placing 2nd in the 2014 running with Michael Rutter (another multiple Isle of Man TT winner) riding it. Per the seller, this is still the last Yamaha to win at Macau.

The seller acquired it directly from Shaun Muir Racing (SMR) at the end of 2014. SMR stated that they “bought new frames from Yamaha Racing and they did not have a VIN number. They are happy to provide a Letter of Authenticity to any new owner.

During his ownership, the seller has covered less than 100 miles. There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown. The seller only took it out for one track day at Brno. He is letting it go as he “decided he was only 10% as capable as the bike itself.

The seller states that this has been “essentially built to World Superbike specification” with upgrades that include full Magnetti Marelli dual circuit GP electronics (£35k value when fitted), Ohlins GP factory suspension, Brembo Monoblock WSB Spec Brakes, 16.5 inch rims (currently with new Pirelli slicks fitted), WSB Fuel Tank, dedicated carbon fairings and subframe, and an Akrapovic titanium GP system.

The seller sums up his bike by calling it “an awesome machine and technically constructed at a level considerably above the traditional preparation of the Big Bang Yamaha R1’s in terms of its’ overall power output, chassis and handling capabilities. Most R1’s of this age were built for traditional ‘Superbike Series’ such as the ‘British Superbike’ or ‘AMA’ Championships.
