When the 2013 F4RR was offered to the public, it got one of the most thorough electronics packages riders had seen to date. It was the first production road bike to offer an electronically-assisted shifter that would let you downshift without using the clutch (and automatically blip the throttle for you, as well). Despite all that and the gorgeous styling, MCN said that on the track, it was “a bugger to ride” thanks to a giant flat spot in the powerband at approximately 10,000rpm. Keep it on the street and it seems to be just fine – or just get your hands on a Power Commander!
The RR was the up-spec model, and it got 6 extra horsepower (up to 201 total) thanks to titanium connecting rods and lighter valve springs. As you’d expect from a $24,998 Italian superbike, it’s dripping with fancy components from Marchesini, Ohlins, and Brembo. The auto-blip feature was generally looked at positively but a safety limit of 12,000rpm apparently made it difficult to use when trying to slow down at the end of a straightaway. The MCN review is worth a read, especially for those of you that think every review of bikes nowadays is a positive one. Still, unless you’re riding this thing at the ragged edge, you probably won’t notice the issues.
This example is being offered by the original owner, who has put 2,570 miles on it. It looks to be stock and the new owner will get the bike with a new set of tires. Find this F4RR for sale in Sacramento, California for $16,950 or best offer here on the Bay Area Riders Forum.
