If you’re looking for the best MX bike ever made, a surprising amount of people would tell you it’s the bike in front of you right now, the 450 SX-F FE. Based on the name, it’d be reasonable for you to assume that it’s just a gussied up version of the base SX-F, but only the chain guide and some clutch/front brake components are interchangeable. Just 450 of these bikes were sold.
I’ll leave it to Motocross Action Magazine to explain what makes this bike so impressive, but I will note that KTM was able to take out 4 pounds from the engine and another 6 pounds from the rest of the bike. The article on this bike is MXA’s most popular story, even though KTM barely released any of these into the wild.
This example (VIN: VBKSXR437FM362601) has just 4.4 hours on it, but there’s a big problem. KTM’s Factory Edition bikes typically become the base model in the next year, so most people are going to just wait for the 2016 SX-F. Maybe someone wants the exclusivity of a FE? Either way, you can find this limited edition KTM for $12,000 or best offer in Hastings, Pennsylvania
