In 2015, Aprilia updated the Tuono with a 1,100cc motor, and it made a great bike even better. In their review, MCN summarized it as: “nothing short of sensational. It sums up what a super naked should be: the ultimate in sportsbike performance, all wrapped-up in a usable, practical road package. Power, torque, handling, braking, electronics and comfort are second to none.“
I spent a week with the Tuono Factory in Italy last year, and it’s as good as you’ve heard it is. I still occasionally wonder why I haven’t bought one yet.
The “Factory” gets Ohlins suspension over the Sachs units of the RR, a special paint job, and a solo seat. This example has 11,910 miles and the seller has been commuting with it for just over a year. There’s several upgrades, including new springs by Super Plush Suspension, Akrapovic carbon slipon, Race ECU, heated grips, a red bellypan from the RSV4, smoked windscreen from the Euro model, Graves fender eliminator, and a whole bunch of crash protection.
