2016 Indian Springfield w/ Champion Avenger Sidecar

In 2016, Indian took the touring chassis that they built for the Chieftain and Roadmaster and stripped it down to create the Springfield – Cycle World called it “the best handling Indian bagger yet.” Just by dumping the frame-mounted fairing with electric-adjust windscreen, Indian was able to shave 24 pounds.

This example actually has a few extra pounds, as it’s been paired with a Champion Avenger sidecar. The Avenger weighs 190 pounds and is rated to carry 450.

The seller is a friend who used to run PR for Indian motorcycles – it was thanks to him that Nathan and I hit the road and created our first video. Using a Springfield as a sidecar platform obviously made sense for him with his role in the company – the bike had about 9,000 miles on it when the sidecar was installed and it has 13,688 now. Upgrades include Stage 2 cams, passenger backrest, windshield, crash bars, Fox shock, and heated grips (not installed).

Find this Springfield with a sidecar for sale in Austin, Texas for $24,999 here at AF1 Racing.
