Well, I think I just found my next pit bike! Honda’s just announced a spiritual successor to the Motocompo – meet the all-electric Motocompacto. It doesn’t roll off the tongue the same way, but it’ll be a lot easier to find in the US!
I’ve yet to meet an electric two-wheeler that I’ve wanted enough to spend my own money on, but I’m admittedly a sucker for something that captures the Motocompo spirit and I’m sort of stunned that Honda wants less than a grand ($995) for this.
Basic specs:
– top speed: 15 mph
– 0-15 mph acceleration: 7 seconds
– range: 12 miles
– weight capacity: 265 pounds
– weight: 41.3 pounds
– full charge time: 3.5 hours
– dimensions (folded): 3.7in W x 21.1in H x 29.2in L
The slim and solid white bodywork gives the Motocompacto two interesting traits: the ability to be stacked and the the ability to be customized with liveries like this:
So, what do you think? I’m probably going to buy one – what about you? For more information, check out Honda’s official site for the Motocompacto!
