In the US, 1993 was the first year of the water-cooled GSX-R 750 (though other markets got water cooling the year before). Despite that, I wouldn’t say it’s a particularly collectible year for the brand – but that didn’t stop the seller of this bike from throwing down some serious money on a restoration. Now it’s up to you to decide if the final product was worth it.
What’s nice is that the restoration was documented on this thread on Gixxer.net.
Since the restoration, this example (VIN: JS1GR7BA7P2104111) has another 5,000+ miles so there are some minimal cosmetic defects again. Highlights of the build include a polished frame, new wiring harness, new paint, the rare OEM seat cowl, Yoshimura rear sets, and V&H exhaust. The seller says that including the bike, labor (estimate of $6,000), he invested over $20,000.
