It’s not common to see the “Babyblade” for sale in the states, but this makes the second one we’ve got in a week, and the low mileage is impressive. The nickname was obviously given as it’s a smaller (400cc) version of the Fireblade, but it was a JDM-only motorcycle for the ~15 years it was produced.
In ’94, the CBR400RR was officially given the Fireblade designation, and a redesign that included the “gull-arm” swingarm. Even though it was designed as an intermediate learner bike (which is why top speed is limited to 112 miles per hour), you still got an ample 55 horsepower to motivate the 400 pounds. Plus, if you convert the speedo to read from KPH to MPH, it fools the speed limiter and you’ll have no restrictions!
This example (VIN: NC29-1100658) was recently imported from Japan and then cleaned and assembled. The seller put 2 kilometers as a shakedown run and he says everything works as it should. As you’d expect, this bike does not have a title or registration, though the seller says he can offer the former for 10% of the sale and the latter for $300 – nice to see those options from a seller if you don’t want to go through the legwork yourself. The only real issue is that the tires might be from ’96 so you’ll want to replace those soon. Find this CBR400RR for sale in Seattle, Washington with bidding up to $2,550 and the reserve not yet met
