In 1999, Buell decided to offer two limited editions of the X1, both utilizing a Nuclear Blue frame. The Carbon Fiber Extreme was named for the distinctive carbon fiber that was utilized – it was weaved in with a blue-tinted Dupont Kevlar fiber by deBotech. It was the more exclusive option of the two, with a production run of just 250. Here’s #225, and it looks to be in excellent shape as it has done just 415 miles.
The special carbon fiber was utilized all over the place: on the front fairing, chin spoiler, tank cover, and windscreen. Look closely and you’ll see the Buell Pegasus icon weaved into the windscreen. You’ll also get Nuclear Blue wheels and frame, and a numbered gas cap. MSRP was $11,299.
The seller’s a bit light on details with this listing, but it’s really just a X1 Lightning in a fancy dress that’s barely been ridden. What happens to it next? Private collection? Museum? No matter the answer, find this limited edition Buell for sale in North Carolina for $6,500 here on Bad Weather Bikers.
