Post Listing Updates: The Chrome Edition did not meet reserve despite 32 bids up to $4,900. The other two were pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown.

While Honda’s Z50 was fairly common, there are a few rare models. A seller in Coventry, Rhode Island has 3 of them, and they all look fantastic. Which would you choose?

1. 1967 Honda Z50. This was the first year of mass production, and it was not sold in the US. Beautifully adorned in Shasta White with a Magna Red headlight housing, the Z50M was powered by a 49cc air-cooled 4-stroke single that produced 4.5 horsepower. the seller has this bike for 51 years, and he had it restored by Jan Harde with “all NOS parts” in 2001. Since the work, it has never been ridden.

2. 1997 Honda Z50 30th Anniversary. My personal favorite of the trio, this combines the classic colors of the original with more modern styling and functionality (like rear suspension). This example is 100% original and has never been ridden.

3. 1986 Honda Z50 Chrome Edition. Also known as the “Christmas Special”, this was a limited edition that officially had the model name of “Z50RD” – the D was for “Dealer”. Honda gave two examples to each of their top dealers, though some called it the “Chrome Edition” seeing as nearly every part on the bike (even the frame!) was chromed. This example has never been ridden and is said to be 100% original.
