Like the Grom but think it needs some more oomph? Thanks to the engine out of a 2016 Honda CB300F, this one will now top 100 miles per hour.
The stock 125cc motor in the Grom is rated at 9 horsepower. The CB300’s parallel twin puts out 30.5! To do this swap you don’t just need the engine – you also need the radiator, radiator fan, throttle body, wiring harness, other harnesses, ECU, handlebar controls, ignition boot, and more – that’s why people typically just buy an entire donor bike instead of just the bigger motor. Here’s an interesting video by someone else who’s done the swap:
On this example, the rear bars suggest that this may have spent some time being stunted, but the seller calls it mint and says that the swap looks stock. The listing is lazy – there’s only one photo of the bike itself and the seller says there’s too much to list in terms of mods, but you don’t see these every day. Would you ride it?
