Post Sale Update: After 22 bids on eBay, this Le Mans sold for $8,000.
Sonny Angel Motorcycles is a family owned dealership in National City, California that goes back to 1953 – his story was documented in this article on Motorcycle Classics. I bring him up today because this featured Guzzi was sitting on the showroom floor from 2002 until the seller acquired it this year.
Despite the looks of the V11, the real story here is weight – it was simply too heavy to be a pure sports bike. The 1,064cc twin was good for 91 horsepower, but none of that will matter with this bike, as it probably will never be ridden again. Still, for more on the V11, check out this review on MCN.
This bike (VIN: ZGUKRAKR62M114707) is probably as close to new as you’re going to find. The seller says there are 0.4 miles on the odometer but it seems pretty clear that there are actually 4. The sale will include the original Certificate of Origin as well as an invoice showing that the dealer’s cost was $9,054. It’s not perfect – there’s some “light corrosion” on metal parts and a “few nicks” that aren’t really shown in the photos. The seller simply bought it and cleaned it up, he has not tried to start it.
