Post-Listing Update: This Yamaha YSR50D was pulled from eBay, final sale price unknown.
The Yamaha YSR50D was the most common of the rare 50cc sportbikes that came from Japan in the late 80s and early 90s. An instant classic, the YSR50 was always street legal, but is now primarily used in spec racing.
The 49.3cc two-stroke engine was capable of pushing the bike up to 38 miles per hour, but companies like Team Calamari have been making stock performance numbers useless with years of aftermarket parts and performance modifications.
This specific Yamaha YSR50D is in the much rare black and yellow paint scheme – most of these were a white/red that was reminiscent of bigger Yamaha sportbikes of the day. As a ’92 example, this is from the last year of production, and with just 421 miles on the odometer, it’s one of the nicer examples I’ve ever seen. It’s 100% original with the exception of tires, and will probably need a minor tune-up before you start terrorizing your local streets with it.
