Post Listing Update: This Motograziella did not get any interest at the unmet opening bid of $2,400.
I’ve featured all kinds of folding scooters over the years, but this just might be the most stylish of them all. “This” is the Motograziella, a 47cc folding moped built by Carnielli of Vittorio Veneto, Italy. Carnielli was founded in the 1920s, but this specific scoot was built from the mid ’60s until Carnielli folded in the ’80s.
The 47cc motor was built by Sachs, while everything else was built in Italy. This example was originally sold in Germany through the local importer (Goldberg in Cologne). Per the seller, this is in “perfect running condition” and it comes with multiple specification sheets and the original title. As you probably guessed, the idea is that this folds up for storage in a car, boat, or plane. The listing claims that this moped has only had one owner since new. and that the only non-original part is the headlight. It’s in great shape for the age, though the seller notes that “the white paint around the bike rack probably could use a little TLC.”
