Over on Iconic we’ve got a rare find in the United States – the SP variant of the Ducati 748. A year after the based 748 was introduced, Ducati created the SP for homologation purposes in 600 Supersport. It was never officially sold in America.
Upgrades to the SP included floating 320mm Brembo cast iron front discs, braided brake lines, an Öhlins shock, alloy single seat subframe, oil cooler, Termignoni pipes, and more.
This example (VIN: ZDM748S000279, engine #: ZDM748W4000165) was imported to the US in 1995 and per the seller, it is one of two that came to the US. The odometer shows eight kilometers (five miles). Per the seller, “miles covered are strictly push miles. The bike has never been started and never had fuel — the battery is not even hooked up.”
The bike is upgraded with Marchesini five-spoke wheels and several Ducati Performance carbon fiber parts – the sale includes the stock parts and paperwork related to the sale. It also includes the original delivery crate!
Find this SP for sale in Columbus, Ohio with bidding up to $16,100 and the reserve not yet met here on Iconic Motorbike Auctions.
