Let’s try something different – Bike-urious is going to start some featured listings. I’m excited to start with one of the greatest modern motorcycles ever, from a seller I personally know and trust. One of this generation’s instant classics, the Ducati Paul Smart was a limited edition inspired by the Ducati race bikes of the 1970s – one of which was piloted by Paul Smart to a win at the Imola 200 in 1972. Production was limited to only 2,000 units worldwide.
The heart of the Paul Smart (how’s that for rhyming?) features a 992cc desmodromic twin engine that produced 92 horsepower. Harkening to the Ducati 750 Imola Desmo race bike, it features the beautiful bubble style half fairing and the green frame. Rounding out the excellent factory specifications are Ohlins upside-down forks in the front and an Ohlins monoshock in the rear.
This specific Ducati Paul Smart is being offered by a personal friend whom I can vouch for. It looks great and sounds even better. In the seller’s words:
“After much searching, this gorgeous, near perfect motorcycle was purchased two years ago from an avid Ducati collector and friend in Arizona where it was stored in a museum setting with climate control and ridden with care. Bike is as clean as they get with some miles, not a scratch and, of course, never dropped. The fuel tank has been replaced on warranty and coated against ethanol penetration by JC PAKbikes. Has been run on non-eth racing fuel I use in my race car since even though unleaded is fine with the coating now. 7500 mile service 9/2014 – valves adjusted (none needed), new cam belts, motul 300V, etc. 5400 miles on bike. At the age of 50, I’m selling all street bikes and focusing on dual-sports from here on in.
