The DT400 was an instant press favorite when it was introduced in 1975, though the average US dirt rider preference was shifting to four-strokes (and thus, the XT/TT series of Yamaha’s offerings). For more on the Yamaha DT400, check out this Retrospective from Rider Magazine.
This example (VIN: 501-016604) is claimed to be in impeccable condition with just 594 miles on it. The seller says it runs like it just rolled off the showroom, after it starts on the first kick. You’ll also get the original owners manual, warranty booklet, and tool kit. The sidewalls of the front tire were cracked so the seller replaced it (but the original is included in the sale), and the bike got a service with new fork oil, a rebuilt petcock, carb cleaning, and more. There’s some minor scratches and a small dent in the right side of the tank.
