Ducati has just won Pikes Peak with a race version of their Multistrada model that’s named after the mountain itself. Here’s a previous gen Pikes Peak Multi that’s barely been used due to a sad story – the seller’s husband passed away two years ago so this has just been waiting for a new owner.
2012 was the first year of the Pikes Peak version of the Multi, which was built to commemorate Greg Tracy’s victory at the 2010 PPIHC. Ducati started with a Multistrada 1200S, then gave it special graphics, red seat stitching, and extra carbon fiber (short windscreen, front fender, cam belt covers). MSRP for the special edition was a hefty $21,995. For a little more information, check out this First Look from Cycle World.
This example is said to be like new. It comes with the factory side bags/trunk, and the seller says it’s been started “every month or so for the past several years and remains on a battery tender.” Despite the “like new” claim, there are two main issues – the rear brake needs to be bled and one of the fork seals is leaking.
