Here’s an interesting custom build with “a nod to the classic cafe racer period of the early to mid 1970s.” Built around a modified Verlicchi frame and a 916 motor (with dry clutch, natch), it was completed last month and is now ready for another 3,500 miles before it’ll need a service.
As you’d guess, there’s been plenty of work done – the seller claims that the engine puts out around 115 horsepower and that the bike weighs around 400 pounds. Almost all of the electrics have been relocated to the tail section, and it’s registered until next January. The work was done by REDBIKE, a company that made its name through motorcycle tours. After running a Ducati workshop in Italy for 9 years, they just added another workshop in Sacramento last year.
