My buddy Don is selling a BMW R75/5 that has a lot of promise as a Formula 750 race bike in AHRMA – please buy it so that I have another friend at the race (and so I don’t buy it myself)!
In Don’s words: “It was built and raced many years ago by noted Texas racer, Floyd Crow. The bike was built and raced in the late 1990s in AHRMA events. I have several photos of it in period. The bike has essentially been built to the highest standards and is safety wired and has fresh Avon race tires, so it is ready to race.”
“The race modifications include: a five-speed transmission, shaved crankshaft, Carrillo rods, lightened flywheel, braced frame down tubes, Dyna coils, R80 front end with disc brake, airbox delete, rear sets, 36 mm Dell’Orto carbs, and electronic ignition.”
“It also has new Ikon shocks. I purchased the machine in 2021 with the intention to race it at the upcoming AHRMA Daytona event. The event was deleted from the AHRMA calendar and therefore I have never had it on track. It is sitting here on a trickle charger on the Shorai battery and needs to be enjoyed.”
“It is literally ready to pass tech and has an oil retention belly pan and upgraded safety wiring. I start it monthly and ride it around my neighborhood just to keep it active. The sale will include the rear fender and lights as well as an R90S faring with front lights. I have a clear and free Florida title in my name should one wish to put it back on the street. I have to say it feels more powerful and responsive than my stock R90/6 or my R 100S. I am happy to answer any questions you may have.”
