A German company founded back in 1854, Simson made guns, cars, motorcycles, and more. Here’s one of the last vehicles out of the factory, a scrambler called the Simson .050 SC. The company would stop production in the Fall of 2002 and go bankrupt in February of the next year.
Finding information on these bikes is tough, but from what I can tell the bike was capable of about 30 miles per hour thanks to a 50cc engine with a 4-speed transmission. This example was apparently imported for show to try and drum up interest in starting a US dealer network. As you probably figured, that didn’t go well. The seller will include original brochures, sales pamphlets, and parts catalogs, but no paperwork.
